Cane Proving Baskets
Our cane proving baskets are made from woven willow wood cane. They are lightweight yet durable banneton that can be used daily in bakeries and commercial kitchens. These baskets also leave a distinctive spiral pattern on the surface of the loaf – a hallmark of artisan bread.
We sell cane proving baskets in round, oval, rectangular, square, triangular and baguette shapes, with dough capacities ranging from 500g to 2,000g. Whether you are producing classic boules, batards, sandwich-style tin loaves or speciality shapes, there is a size and profile to suit your output.

These environmentally friendly proving baskets are strong and durable, made of woven willow wood cane these make a cheaper and ideal natural alternative to our wicker proving basket. Perfect bannetons for the organic or traditional baker. (Weight Limit stated applies to approx. quantity of dough) PLEASE NOTE to keep the quality of these baskets during use they must be dried completely before stacking and every 2 months or so cleaned out thoroughly.
These baskets are made using natural cane and stainless-steel staples to avoid any rust issues (these staples are therefore difficult to detect by a metal detector).
